Press release As the screening of the Nigeria’s most focused beauty pageant, Miss Health draws nearer, the management has revealed that its research has identified loopholes in the Nigerian health sector that will be tackled effectively when the merited queen is crowned.
The project Director, Nick B revealed these while briefing the press on Monday in Abuja on the management’s readiness to set a standard in the Nigerian pageant industry.
On the ailments that are causing untold hardship to the global world, he said his team has conducted a random sampling within the urban and rural areas to ascertain major diseases adding that the government needs to do more to save lives as 1.5% women in Nigeria die of Contraception, 0.39% of HIV/AIDs, 0.9 of Cervical Cancer, 0.3 of Hepatitis and many more.
He further stressed that hence these are identified, Miss Health office is ready to partner with relevant health institutions and NGOs to tackle these identified menace in the society.
He however added that the pageant is still open for registration as screening will commence soon in the six geo-political zones of the country and called on potential queens and models that are passionate about saving lives to get on board as this is a good platform to touch lives through their humanitarian activities that will be carried on after the pageant proper in June.
