POLL: VOTE NOW- TRUE FEDERALISM FOR NIGERIA OR BIAFRA FOR EASTERN STATES

While some people from the old eastern states, comprising of the South East and the South South are clamoring for the sovereign state of Biafra, Political elites in the country have projected restructuring which is encompassed in ‘True Fiscal Federalism’ as the solution to Nigeria’s problem not necessarily secession.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, said on Tuesday that Nigeria must embrace restructuring as the surest solutions to its current economic challenges.

He argued that to succeed, the country must abandon its “feeding bottle federalism “ for true fiscal federalism.

The deputy Senate President also disagreed with the views expressed in certain quarters that all the country needed was good governance and not restructuring.

Ekweremadu added, “I disagree with those who say that Nigeria does not necessarily need restructuring, but good governance that will eliminate corruption.

  1. Allow Biafra to go simple and short. We dont want true fedralism.

  2. Ikpa Chukwuemeka.

Nigerians needs true fiscal federalism. So that every region can develop at it own pace via what they know best. We don’t want a Nigeria that will continue to be practicing feeding bottle federalism. Whereby many state can’t stand on their feet.

  3. All we want is biafra

  4. What we are saying is very simple. Freedom is non-negotiable. It is one thing to CONVINCE a people to take part in your organization and it is a wholly different thing to claim that must stay under threat of violence. Let me put this another way. It is absurd for me to tell a man that his membership in my organization, whether corporation non-profit or even a country, is non-negotiable. He owns himself. He owns his human capital. He alone decides how he spends his time and with whom he organizes. Communities are mere extensions or extrapolations of the individual. Just as I cannot force a man to be in my organization, Nigeria cannot force Biafra to remain in Nigeria. Simple.

Also, any corrupt Nigerian politician that tries to speak for Biafra and tells the lie that what Biafrans want is fiscal federalism, true federalism, or a slice of useless Abuja instead of full independence must be ignored. Only the people can speak for themselves on this matter. We have spoken on the streets with protest and they have paid for this with blood. We have spoken online with polls. LET US SPEAK IN THE VOTING BOOTH UNDER THE WATCH OF AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED THIRD PARTY! It will be even clearer what the people want. If Biafrans are “an insignificant minority” as Buhari has said then this should not be a problem to arrange.

  5. Biafra Exit should be arranged a democratic process. The federal government should respect the dignity of human beings. Nobody should be denied the right to self determination, to make his own choice and a control of his future. Why should someone else decide my future for me. I mean why should Buhari say that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable? Why must he kill people to keep Nigeria united?
