Dangote Group has pledged to support the federal government and Kano State government in exploring key sectors of the economy towards cushioning effect of the recession.
According to a statement signed by the Chief Corporate Communication Officer, Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, the Group will therefore explore opportunities opening up in agriculture, mining and infrastructure through partnership with the levels of government.
Executive Director, Commercial, DFM, Hajiya Halima Dangote gave the indication while speaking at the Dangote Special Day ceremony at the Kano International Trade Fair on recently.
Hajiya Halima who was a special guest at the event, and representing president/chief executive of the group, Aliko Dangote, said challenges of the recession have rather presented opportunities to explore areas of development and bring back lost glory of Nigeria’s economy.
She said it is such determination that informed the re-opening of Dangote flour mill in Kano as well as the Tomato factory processing project which would have been fully operational in Kadawa area of the state if not for the hitches caused by Tomato disease and some technicalities.
Halima reiterated efforts by the Group in ensuring sustainability in rice production through extensive out grower program in Jigawa state.
